Healthy Beach Snacks

It’s summer time, which means it’s time to hit the beach! You’ve been working so hard for your bikini body, it’s time to show if off! And I want to make sure you look and feel your best while your squishing your toes in the sand. If there is one thing you don’t want, it’s to feel bloated while you’re lying on the beach in your bikini. That’s why it’s important to pack healthy snacks for your beach day. Here are a few of my favorites to give you some ideas…

Fresh fruit – Choose fruits like watermelon, blue berries, mango, and citrus fruits. These have phytochemicals that can help protect your skin from harmful UV rays.

Edamame – This bean is the perfect beach snack as it’s easy to eat, has energy-boosting carbohydrates and is high in both fiber and protein.

Hummus & Veggies – Vegetables like carrots, broccoli, and bell peppers are packed with vitamins and minerals. Eat them on their own or with some organic hummus.

Frozen grapes – Freezing your grapes gives them a creamy texture. They also take longer to eat when frozen, so you’ll likely eat fewer!

Whole grain chips and mango salsa – This is what I had at my most recent beach trip. Always choose whole grains. Almost every food gives you that option now: whole grain chips, bread, oats, etc… Whole grains will keep you full and give you the nutrition you need. Pair some whole grain chips with your favorite salsa.

Nuts & Dried Fruit – This is such an easy beach snack, and easy to customize to your liking. I love almonds and cashews (unsalted of course) mixed with some died cranberries. Dried mango is also one of my favorite dried fruits. Make sure to get unsweetened dried fruits… they are sweet enough already, you don’t need that extra sugar!

Saffron Road Crunch Chickpeas – These are addicting. I have to be careful with these because I could eat a whole bag in one sitting. If you like crunchy snacks this is perfect. This is also a snack you could make on your own, just roast up some chickpeas with similar seasonings.

Larabar – This is my favorite snack bar. They contain 100% natural ingredients of fruit and nuts. The Apple Pie bar tastes just like it came out of your Grandma’s kitchen (but it’s much healthier).

Banana & Peanut Butter – This is a perfect combination of protein and carbohydrates. If you don’t like carrying bananas in your bag, try a banana snack like Barnana.

Broccoli Florets “chips” from Trader Joe’s – This is one of my favorite snacks! It will certainly satisfy your salty potato chip craving.

Fruit infused water – Fill up a big water bottle and put some sliced up oranges in there, or add another fruit you would love a hint of in your water.
